Broncos Strike On 2nd Play Of Game, Lead Chargers 7-3 After 1st Quarter

DENVER (CBS4/The Sports Xchange) - It took the Broncos only two plays to get on the board against the Chargers and Denver leads the San Diego 7-3 after the first quarter.

Brock Osweiler hooked up with Demaryius Thomas on a 72-yard bomb on the second play of the game.

With just over 8 minutes left in the first quarter Osweiler then connected with Emmanuel Sanders on a 46-yard pass but Sanders was stripped of the ball by cornerback Steve Williams who recovered the ball at their own 5 yard line.

With under 5 minutes left the quarter Osweiler was picked off by Williams on a pass that was tipped. But the Broncos held and were able to get the ball back.

Osweiler finished the quarter going 7/11 for 182 yards. Ronnie Hillman had three rushes for 35 yards and C.J. Anderson added 20 yards on three carries.
