Broncos Offense Stalls In 3rd Quarter But Denver Still Leads Pittsburgh 27-20 After 3 Quarters

PITTSBURGH (CBS4/AP/The Sports Xchange) - The Broncos lead the Steelers 27-20 after three quarters of play.

Brock Osweiler's near perfect start hit a speed bump late in the first half when the Denver quarterback went to the locker room to get checked for a right shoulder injury. Osweiler completed 14 of 18 passes for 214 yards and three scores and also ran for a touchdown while staking the Broncos to a 27-13 lead. He left the game after throwing a 6-yard touchdown to Demaryius Thomas. Osweiler returned to start the second half but was ineffective during the first possession and the Broncos had to punt.

Ben Roethlisberger connected with Antonio Brown with 7:20 left in the third quarter to make the score 27-20.

The Broncos couldn't score on all four of their possessions of the third quarter.

Osweiler is 16 for 27 with 252 yards and three touchdowns after three quarters. Ronnie Hillman has 45 yards on 13 carries. Emmanuel Sanders leads all receivers with nine catches for 169 yards.
