Broncos Defense Stymies Panthers, Denver Wins Super Bowl 50
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (CBS4) - Another dominating performance by Von Miller and the Denver defense was more than enough for the Broncos to emerge victorious in Super Bowl 50.
The Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers by a score of 24-10 at Levi's Stadium on Sunday in what was their third Super Bowl win in franchise history.
The Denver defense, ranked No. 1 throughout the season, sacked Panthers quarterback Cam Newton seven times and T.J. Ward intercepted Newton in the third quarter.
Peyton Manning mostly struggled in what could have been his final game. He was 13 for 23 for 141 yards and one interception. He also threw a completion to Bennie Fowler for a 2-point conversion.
The win marks Manning's second Super Bowl win four trips to the NFL's biggest game.
Denver handed Carolina its second loss of the season.
