Brandon Marshall Continues Protest Against Social Injustice
DENVER (CBS4)- Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall continued his protest against social injustice before Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. There were cheers mixed with boos in the crowd as he refused to stand for the national anthem and instead took a knee.
"It's a national conversation. People say it's going to divide our nation and I think it's going to do just the opposite," said Marshall.
The silent protest continues to spread among NFL players. Three of the four Miami Dolphins who took at knee at the team's home opener did so again on Sunday.
Last week, the Seattle Seahawks linked arms in a sign of unity while some Rams and Chargers raised their fists in the air.
When asked if he would continue the protest next week, Marshall said he couldn't say.
