Brighton Boulevard Closed Due To Road Damage On I-270

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (CBS4)- Crews closed Brighton Boulevard in both directions on Tuesday afternoon because of road damage on Interstate 270 above Brighton Boulevard.
Brighton Boulevard was closed in both directions from East 56th Avenue to East 60th Avenue. Delays were expected for several hours.
Northbound traffic was rerouted onto eastbound East 56th Avenue and southbound traffic was rerouted onto eastbound East 60th Avenue or northbound Colorado Boulevard.
Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area.
Copter4 flew over the area where there appeared to be a hole in the elevated portion. There was a lot of debris on the road under the elevated portion.
Traffic on westbound I-270 was restricted to one lane.
