'Blossoms Of Light' Lighting Up The Denver Skies

DENVER (CBS4) "Blossoms of Light" is a more than 25-year tradition at the Denver Botanic Garden.

"A trail of lights that brings you throughout the gardens that ranges from LED interactive displays, which are new this year, to images projected up onto some of the windows around the place, to some traditional holiday Christmas-themed lights," explained Jennifer Riley, a spokesperson for the Denver Botanic Garden.

The Denver Botanic Gardens put on two holiday light displays. "Blossoms of Light" at the York Street garden, and "Trail of Lights" at Chatfield Farm.

"They're unique in that the Chatfield event is more farmy. It's a 700-acre farm down in Littleton, and so there are tractors and and the barn. It definitely has a country feel to it," Riley told CBS4.

Not all 700-acres are lit at Chatfield Farm. There are 17 acres lit at the York Street garden, with a more urban feel. New this year is an LED interactive display at the amphitheater.

"This year is the first year we've had interactive LED. I won't take away the element of surprise. I do encourage people to come on out and get hands-on with it, and experience it for themselves," Riley said.

The Denver Botanic Gardens light displays run through Jan. 1, and Riley encourages visitors to buy tickets in advance.

"Every year is different. Even if you've come the last several years, I'd still encourage you to take a look this year. There's a lot of new additions, that make it fresh. But it's different every year, and there's truly something to discover," Riley said.
