Black Hawk Helicopter Helps Rescue Hiker
LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Emergency crews in Rocky Mountain National Park rescued an injured hiker on Sunday by hoisting him to a Black Hawk helicopter.
The helicopter crew was called in from Eagle.
The 49-year-old hiker fell and broke his leg at The Crags, east of Fish Creek Road near Estes Park.
After about five hours from the initial 911 call, crews lifted him and flew him to the Estes Park Fairgrounds. The man was then taken to the hospital.
