1 Injured In Fire At Denver Auto Body Shop

DENVER (CBS4) - A large number of emergency personnel responded to an area near Josephine Street and 46th for a fire at an auto body shop on Thursday night.

Crews responded at approximately 9 p.m. to 24 Hour Auto Body Shop, and were told two people were inside when the fire started.

There proved to be just one individual, and there were no fatalities as originally reported in the middle of the chaotic scene by Denver Fire Department.

That person was injured and was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

"They cut the gates open, forced entry, put the fire out. Along the way we got reports that there might be somebody in the building, as a result of that we did find someone in the building. At this point arson investigators are inside, investigating trying to find a cause," said Mark Ruzycki, Denver Fire Shift Commander.

The building was locked up at the time, and it is unknown what the person was doing inside.

Officials say the building was heavily damaged, and there is no word on what caused the fire.
