Aurora Police Want Help Finding Attempted Abduction Suspect
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – Police in Aurora are investigating an attempted abduction of a young girl.
According to police, on Tuesday at approximately 4:30 p.m. an 11-year-old girl was approached by a man while she was walking home from school near East Evans Avenue and South Telluride Street.
The victim told police the man was driving a black four-door hatchback vehicle with "heavy scratching" on the passenger door that looked like it had been sanded down for painting.
"The suspect asked the victim if she wanted a ride home. When the victim refused the suspect got out of his vehicle and grabbed the victim from behind," police said in a statement. "The victim was able to fight off her attacker by kicking him in the shin. She slipped out of her backpack and ran away to safety."
The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, approximately 5-foot-11 with a muscular build. He has brown eyes and bushy brown eyebrows. He was wearing a black ski mask, black sweatshirt with a hood, and black jeans. He had a tattoo of a tear or cross on the outside corner of his right eye.
