Aurora Police Search For Police Impersonator Who Patted Down Teens
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Aurora are investigating reports of a man who "patted down" four juveniles while posing as an undercover police officer.
The incident happened Saturday night at the Walgreens near Tower Road and Iliff Avenue.
The four juveniles told police the man had been inside the store with them. When they left he followed them outside and told them he was an undercover officer. That's when he patted down and searched them.
One of the girls told police he sexually assaulted her during the pat down.
"Apparently after that he was asking them a few more questions. They asked for him for ID, and when he couldn't produce a police ID the kids all ran off," Frank Fania with Aurora police said.
The man is not being called a suspect at this time, but he is a person of interest. He is described as a white or Hispanic male in his mid-to-late 20s, 5-foot-8 and about 150 pounds.
The man was carrying a camouflage colored backpack and riding a blue mountain bike.
