Aurora City Council Tables Rezoning Proposal That Could Leave Some Homeless

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - The Aurora City Council decided Monday night to table a proposal that would rezone the Denver Meadows mobile home park.

Residents say rezoning could push them out of their homes and they have nowhere to go.

Many who live at Denver Meadows say their homes are older. Mobile homes built before 1976 cannot be moved to another location. If the land is rezoned, many will lose their investment and the actual home.

Council members expressed concern there is no plan for relocating or compensating the residents.

The advocate group, 9to5, is rallying behind the mobile home owners.
