Wadsworth Boulevard Reopened In Arvada Following Crash

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) - A fatal crash between a motorcycle and another vehicle shut down part of Wadsworth Boulevard in Arvada Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the intersection at 76th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard at 8:59 a.m., according to a press release from the Arvada Police Department.

APD states its investigators have determined the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed on southbound Wadsworth when it struck a vehicle entering lanes of his same direction of travel.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, but did not survive.

APD determined the motorcyclist had a revoked driver's license and that the motorcycle had been reported as stolen.

Alcohol and drugs are being investigated as possible factors in the crash.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

The road was reopened three and a half hours later, at around 12:30 p.m.
