Approximately A Million People Expected For The Denver Broncos Parade & Rally
By Tom Mustin
DENVER (CBS4) - Road crews painted Broadway orange and blue to welcome home the world champion Denver Broncos on Monday.
More than a million people are expected for Tuesday's Broncos victory parade, which winds through downtown Denver and ends in Civic Center Park.
"It's going to be a lot of people, ' said one Denver resident.
On Monday, crews strung cable and tightened scaffolding in front of the City and County Building, including workers from the unfortunately titled "Cam Services."
"I noticed you work for Cam Services, no relation to Cam Newton?" CBS4's Tom Mustin asked worker Shawn Ornelas.
"No way man," replied Carnelas. "Unlike him we get the job done. Denver Broncos, world champions!"
Richard Turner's production house office will be closed for the parade. He'll be attending -- possibly with a family member.
"I'm trying to think if I should bring my son out of school. I'm not sure if the teachers will like that," Turner said.
"It's a learning experience," Mustin said.
"It totally is," Turner replied.
Anna Quisenberry works at the Common Ground coffee shop located right along the parade route. She's expecting big business from Broncos fans.
"We're bringing in extra people on staff, so we're excited to see what we get," she said.
Denver police will have a heavy presence at the event. Several roads will be closed, and visitors are being encouraged to use public transportation.
Meanwhile, Turner says he'll definitely be there for a chance to witness history -- with his son -- or solo.
"It's hard to win the Super Bowl, so it's a special historic occasion for Denver.
The festivities are scheduled to begin Tuesday at 10 a.m. CBS4 will broadcast the parade and rally live starting at 11 a.m.
