All Jeffco Schools Open After Sick Out

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (AP) — All schools are back open in Jefferson County after a teacher sick out closed two schools last week.

So many teachers called in sick on Friday that classes had to be cancelled at Standley Lake High School in Westminster and Conifer High School in Conifer. School officials feared more teachers would remain home sick Monday. It wasn't immediately known how many did.

Teachers are upset about the school board's plans to change their pay scales and also possible changes to the way advanced placement classes in U.S. history are taught.

Some students are planning to walk out of classes to support teachers on Tuesday.
