7 Displaced After Apartment Building Collapses

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Seven people have been displaced after part of an apartment building collapsed in Colorado Springs on Sunday.

The collapse occurred at the Lincoln Springs Apartments located near Chelton Road and Fountain Boulevard.

"They told me that the collapse happened (and) the fire department was able to go in and get my belongings for tonight, possibly a couple of days if need be," Teresa Chadwick told KKTV in Colorado Springs.

Three units were affected.

The Red Cross is helping out the displaced residents with shelter and other resources. It's not clear when the residents will be able to return.

The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
