"It sounded like an explosion," a witness said.

The injured included the driver, a 24-year-old man, and three customers and employees at the store. All were seriously injured and one, a 60-year-old woman who owns the business, is reported to be in critical condition.

"He just basically came into this building at a pretty high rate of speed is what it looks like to us," Sonny Jackson with Denver police said.

Fire personnel had to free the driver who was trapped inside the Tahoe. Eyewitness saw some of the injured victims.

"There was another woman who staggered outside shortly after the accident happened … and she was extremely disoriented," a witness told CBS4.
