4-Vehicle Crash Closes Hwy 85 For Hours

BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4)- Colorado State Patrol investigated a serious crash involving four vehicles on Highway 85 Saturday afternoon. The highway was closed for nearly four hours for accident cleanup and investigation.

CSP Sgt. Rob Madden told CBS4 that one vehicle crossed into opposing lanes of traffic and struck another vehicle on the driver's side.

A third vehicle was struck by the second vehicle and then the fourth vehicle rear-ended the third vehicle.

Troopers are trying to figure out what caused the first vehicle to cross over into oncoming lanes of traffic.

Highway 85 was closed between Highway 7 and 168th Avenue for several hours.
