3 People Found Dead Inside Thornton Home

THORNTON, Colo. (AP/CBS4) — Thornton police are investigating an apparent double murder-suicide that happened Sunday night.

Witnesses say they heard multiple gunshots just before 9 p.m. inside a town house at 9318 Welby Road. Officers forced their way into the home and found the bodies of a man and two women. They also recovered a gun.

Police said in a statement that causes of death will be determined by the Adams County Coroner's Office.

A family member told CBS4 it was her sister and parents -- Lorie and John Fletchall – who died.

Jason Frasier was friends with John Fletchall and said he was with him just hours before the shooting. Frasier says John and Lori had been arguing on the phone earlier that day.

"We were hanging out and trying to get him to come with us and trying to get him to ease his mind and just put himself in a different place," Fasier said. "He said, 'No, I need to work this out with my wife.' "

Police can't confirm the relationship between the three people killed and until they get a report from the coroner. They won't say who of the three found inside the home was the shooter.

Officials said they are hoping anyone who has information that might be helpful to the investigation to contact them.
