3 Injured In Hit & Run Crash, Police Search For Driver

DENVER (CBS4)- Three people, including a child, were hospitalized after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Wednesday night.

Police in Denver are trying to track down the driver last seen speeding away from the scene in a black Jeep.

Officers rushed to Morrison Road near Stuart Street in southwest Denver about 10 p.m. Wednesday where a man, a child about 3-to-4 years old and his mother had been hit.

The child who was struck remains hospitalized. The other victims were hurt but not seriously injured.

Investigators said the vehicle came onto the sidewalk, striking the victims where they were walking.

"It's unfortunate. You have a child that's 3 to 4 years old that has been hit by a car. That's frustrating for everybody involved. We're looking into his injuries and sometimes you can learn from the injuries as well," said Denver Police Dept. spokesman Sonny Jackson.

Police said there was one person who partially saw what happened and was able to give the police a vehicle description.

Police are hoping more witnesses come forward as they try to track down the driver of the Jeep.
