3 found dead at 2 different locations in Douglas County, Colorado
Law enforcement from the Parker Police Department and Douglas County Sheriff's Office teamed up on Thursday for an investigation into three deaths, an adult male, an adult female and a juvenile male. Investigators believe the deaths, at two separate locations, are related.
Two people, an adult male and a juvenile male, were found dead near the Rueter-Hess Incline in Douglas County just before 9 a.m.
"There was information discovered at the first scene that led them to that address," said Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly.
One person, an adult female, was found dead inside a home on Blackwolf Drive in Parker after officers were called to conduct a welfare check at 10:15 a.m.
Investigators believe there is no threat to the community. The cause and manner of death have not been released to the public.
The Rueter-Hess Incline is located about 5 miles from downtown Parker near the Rueter-Hess Reservoir.
The initial call included a response for a natural gas leak at the home on Blackwolf Drive, however investigators have not determined whether the gas leak is involved in the death investigation. Homes in the area were evacuated as crews with South Metro Fire Rescue arrived and assisted with the gas leak.
