Wild Surveillance Video: FBI Searches For Violent Bank Robbers

By Tom Mustin

DENVER (CBS4)- Two men stormed the KeyBank on South Colorado Boulevard on Monday and took off with some cash. Now the FBI has teamed up with police in hopes someone will recognize the suspects.

C.J. Larkin spoke for her fellow neighbors after a violent robbery at the KeyBank near her Denver home.

"That's very scary." she told CBS4's Tom Mustin.

The men robbed the KeyBank at 2305 S. Colorado Blvd. about 10:15 a.m. Monday.

Surveillance video from Monday morning shows a gold Dodge Intrepid pull into the bank parking lot near Colorado and Iliff.

Two men wearing black hoodies, black masks and pink gloves get out of the vehicle and enter the building with guns drawn. The men jump over the counter and start pushing employees at gunpoint.

"Some of the employees told us they didn't think they would get out of the bank robbery alive, said FBI spokesperson, Deborah Sherman.

Sherman says the bandits may have struck before, and their terrifying assault has agents concerned, "The men were very violent, very dangerous. They really held people hostage and threatened their lives."

Larkin says the bank is located right next to the Most Precious Blood Catholic school. Children and families were just a few feet away.

"That's so scary. Some of the kids do field trips and walk around, so I think that's something particularly concerning," said Larkin.

Sherman says a third man drove the getaway car-- a gold Dodge Intrepid, possibly a 2002 model year.

And with no leads, and the brazen suspects still on the run, Larkin believes the bandits will strike again.

"If they're going to do this, this close to a school. right off a main drag, I think that's really worrisome," said Larkin.

The suspects are considered armed and dangerous.

The suspects have been described as 6-foot, wearing black hoodies, black facial covering, one was wearing black pants the other in blue jeans, both wore pink gloves.

Anyone with information regarding this crime or recognizes the suspects in the pictures is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). You can text to CRIMES (274637) then title DMCS and enter your message or send an e-mail to metro-denvercrimestoppers.com. If the information you provide leads to the arrest and charging of a wanted individual, you can receive a cash reward up to $2,000.
