17 Metro Area Museums Free For 'Night at the Museums'

DENVER (CBS4) - Free Night at the Museums is part of Denver Arts Week. This Saturday 17 museums will stay open between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. allowing visitors to explore their exhibitions for free. A shuttle bus will go between 12 of the museums offering free rides all evening.

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is among those participating in Free Night at the Museums. Visitors can learn about mammals at the temporary exhibit "Extreme Mammals," or learn more about space, health, or gems and minerals in the museums ongoing exhibits. The traveling exhibit, "Mummies: New Secrets from the Tomb," will require an admissions ticket.

"This is a great time for families from across the area and all sorts of folks who just want to get out for the night to come and see the museum for free at a time when they wouldn't really have access," said Jennifer Moss Logan, an educator for Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
