$1 Million Emergency Funds Help I-70 Rock Slide Repairs Through Glenwood Canyon
GLENWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- The Colorado Department of Transportation has been awarded $1 million for repairs and reconstruction of Interstate 70 through Glenwood Canyon.
Last week a rock slide closed a portion of the interstate for more than a week. One lane in each direction was reopened on Thursday but it will be another month before both lanes are reopen in both directions.
"These emergency funds are crucial to help CDOT quickly repair this busy stretch of I-70," Sen. Michael Bennet said. "We will continue to work with CDOT to ensure it has the resources it needs to repair the road and restore access to Glenwood Canyon."
