Man Killed In Sunday Morning Apartment Shooting
DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver rushed to investigate a shooting that left one man dead and a woman critically injured on Sunday morning.
Officers rushed to the Ruby Hill Residences in the 1100 block of South Pecos near Mississippi just after 11:30 a.m. Sunday to investigate a possible shooting.
Police tweeted out an update on the situation.
When they arrived they found one man dead and a woman critically injured.
People who live in the complex say they're still getting to know each other since it opened to tenants two months ago.
"This is sad, c'mon now. New building and this is already going down... I'm scared," said resident Christine Aragon.
Aragon was at church when the shooting happened next door. When she returned home she and her husband were discussing the police activity when they noticed something wasn't quite right.
"He came in and said, 'Well, look at all the dust on the table. And I said, 'Well, that's really weird' and then he looked up, 'Look at that, maintenance must have been here working on the wall,'" said Aragon.
But when they took another look.
"Then we went back and saw the (bullet) holes," said Aragon.
What led up to the shooting remains under investigation.
It is unclear whether the victims knew each other or whether they were the only people involved.
