Yankees Pitcher Tanaka Charters Boeing 787 For Party Of Five -- And His Dog
(CBS) Clearly, the definition of excessive is different for many people.
In a display that simultaneously makes you chuckle and shake your head at over-indulgence, new Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka paid an airline $195,000 to charter a Boeing 787 to get from his native Japan to New York City as he makes the trek to spring training, according to SBS and other reports.
The kicker? On a plane that's believed to seat about 200, the only passengers were Tanaka, four others and his pet poodle.
Good thing he signed a $155-million contract with the Yankees recently.
