Work Begins On New Retail-Apartment Complex In Wrigleyville
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Officials broke ground Thursday on a huge retail and residential project across the street from the street from Wrigley Field.
The $150 million Addison & Clark project will create about 600 jobs, and will boast approximately 150,000 square feet of commercial space, 148 apartments, and 405 parking spaces.
Tenants for the retail space have not yet been announced.
Crews began demolishing a collection of shuttered businesses on the site in May. Construction of the new building was expected to be completed in Summer 2018.
Addison & Clark is just one of several new projects in the Wrigleyville area.
Work already has begun on a new plaza and office building outside Wrigley Field, as well as a 175-room hotel directly across from the plaza.
