Woodridge Schools On Guard In Wake Of Armed Robberies
WOODRIDGE, Ill. (CBS) -- Every school in Woodridge District 68 was taking precautions Tuesday - and most likely through this week - after three armed robberies in the community in five days.
No outside recess. No outside P.E. No after-school activities at the six elementary schools and one middle school in Woodridge District 68.
Superintendent Dr. Cathy Skinner said they're acting on the direction of police - after three armed robberies since last Thursday.
"They asked us to take precautionary measures as the investigation goes on," Skinner said.
Woodridge Police said they have extra patrols around the schools this week.
The only after-school activity that will take place, Dr. Skinner says, is a park district program - and she says extra staff will be there.
