Woman Who Won Cubs Lottery: 'I Feel Like I've Won The Golden Ticket, Like Willie Wonka'
(CBS) -- Jodi Richman was one of more than a million people who signed up for a chance to buy Cubs postseason tickets online. Unlike most of them, fortune smiled on her.
"I was rejected the first round," she tells WBBM's Lisa Fielding.
On Wednesday, she got the email she was waiting for.
"I got an email from the Cubs saying I had been chosen to buy tickets at face value to next week's games," she says.
Richman was one of only a few thousand selected fans who have the opportunity to buy up to four tickets to a NLCS game at Wrigley, pending availability, at face value.
Richman says she logged on, entered a code she received with her email, picked her game and got confirmation.
"I feel like I've won the golden ticket, like (in) 'Willie Wonka.' I'm shaking I'm so excited," she says.
Richman, who has been going to Wrigley since she was 7 years old, says she bought four tickets for Tuesday's game pitting the Cubs against the Mets.
"I'm taking my daughter, my husband and his dad, who is 82 and grew up a Cubs fan and lived in Wrigleyville," she says.
Only a few thousand lucky Cubs fans got the chance to order the face value tickets for a NLCS game.
The Cubs are offering an online lottery for each round of the playoffs.
If you still haven't been chosen, you still have a chance if the Cubs move on to the World Series.
