Woman Killed When Motorcycle Strikes 2 Pedestrians On Lake Shore Drive
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A motorcycle struck two pedestrians crossing Lake Shore Drive near Buckingham Fountain late Monday, killing a 25-year-old woman.
Police said a motorcycle swerved between cars stopped at a red light at Lake Shore Drive and Balbo Avenue, and blew through the red light, slamming into a group of pedestrians crossing the street near Grant Park around 10:30 p.m.
One of the pedestrians, a 25-year-old woman, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A man who also was struck was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was listed in serious condition Tuesday morning.
The biker, a 20-year-old man, was taken to Northwestern in serious condition. Charges were pending Tuesday morning.
