Woman Killed In Crash On Bishop Ford Freeway

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A northwest Indiana woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Monday on the Bishop Ford Freeway in south suburban South Holland.

About 1:05 a.m., she was driving an SUV on the Bishop Ford (I-94) southbound ramp to eastbound I-80 when she lost control of the vehicle, according to Illinois State Police, who said speed may have played a role in the crash.

Secilia Christine Lee, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:01 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Lee lived in the 400 block of Lincoln Street in Gary, Indiana.

Three other people suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said. Two were taken to Franciscan St. Margaret Health in Hammond and another was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

The ramp was estimated to reopen to traffic by 5:30 a.m. as an accident reconstruction team investigates, police said.
