Woman dead, 2 children ejected after SUV crashes into pole near Calumet River
CHICAGO (CBS) —A woman died and two children were ejected after her SUV hit a pole near the Calumet River Monday morning.
Police said a 5-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy were ejected from the SUV just after 2:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of East 106th Street.
The woman died at the scene, police said.
Police said a man, who has not been identified, found both of the children and took them to a hospital in Indiana. They were taken to Comer Children's Hospital in critical condition.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
