SKOKIE, Ill. (STMW) -- A female driving the wrong way on the Edens Expressway (I-94) was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol early Thursday near north suburban Skokie.
About 2:05 a.m., the female was traveling south on I-94 when she crashed her vehicle and, having gotten turned around, began driving north in the southbound lanes between Willow and Old Orchard roads, said Illinois State Police Sgt. George Jimenez.
The female later turned the vehicle around and began traveling southbound again in the southbound lanes, Jimenez said.
She exited the expressway eastbound onto Old Orchard Road about 2:30 a.m., where Skokie police stopped her, Jimenez said.
The female, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, Jimenez said. Details on the crash were not immediately known.
She was arrested for DUI and charges were pending early Thursday, Jimenez said.
