Winter Motorists Should Have These Survival Items In Their Vehicles: AAA Motor Club
(CBS) -- We've seen all the problems with stranded vehicles in the snow in northwest Indiana.
Are you prepared if that should happen to you? CBS 2's Mike Parker talks with Beth Mosher of the AAA Motor Club, which has a checklist for winter-weather drivers.
Among the items the experts recommend having in your vehicle:
-Cell phone and charger
-A First Aid kit
-"All-in-one" roadside assistance kit with jumper cables, flashlight and flares
-Lots of warm clothing, boots and blankets.
Other tips: Always travel with bottled water and snacks. If you end up getting stuck and stranded, clear the snow from your exhaust pipe. That way, when you run your engine to stay warm, you can avoid carbon monoxide.
