Winners of first Cook County 2024 marriage license contest announced
CHICAGO (CBS) – One lucky couple can now tell their family they'll be the first in Cook County to be married in 2024.
Clerk Karen Yarbrough held a drawing Wednesday morning for its annual first marriage contest. The deadline for couples to enter was Tuesday.
The drawing was streamed on Yarbrough's Facebook page.
Congratulations to Anjelica Rodriguez and Alfonso Arroyo. The couple will exchange vows at the first marriage ceremony on Jan. 2.
They'll also get a gourmet dinner box, a wine basket, cheesecake, a dance lesson, a cooking lesson, and tickets to a comedy show.
Those items were donated by several Chicago area businesses.
