First Winners Of 39th Annual Chicago Marathon Cross Finish Line

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The first winners of the 39th annual Chicago Marathon have crossed the finish line.

Abel Kirui of Kenya won the Chicago Marathon for men in 2:11:23.

Florence Kiplagat, also of Kenya, won for women shortly after in 2:21:32, about two minutes faster than her 2015 win, when she clocked 2:23:33. There was no one within dozens of yards of her.

Tatyanna McFadden won her seventh consecutive women's wheelchair race during the Chicago Marathon with a time of 1:42:32.

Paralympian Marcel Hug, of Switzerland, also known as the "Swiss Silver Bullet," won the men's wheelchair marathon. he also won the Boston Marathon 2016 wheelchair division.
