Wind Chill Advisory Issued For Chicagoland Area
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The National Weather Service issued a Wind Chill Advisory for the entire Chicagoland area effective until 10 a.m. Thursday morning.
The National Weather Service in Chicago issued a Windy Chill Advisory for DuPage, Cook, LaSalle, Kendall, Grundy, Will, Kankakee, Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Lake, Ogle, Lee, DeKalb, Kane, Livinston, Iroquois, Ford, Porter, Newton Jasper and Benton counties from 9 p.m. Wednesday evening until 10 a.m. Thursday morning. The advisory is also in effect for parts of Wisconsin and Indiana.

Wind chill values will range from 15 below to 30 below.
Frostbite can occur on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes, the NWS warns. Avoid prolonged time outdoors if possible.

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills.
The NWS advises that if one must venture outdoors, make sure you wear a hat and gloves. Wind Chill Advisory could lead to frost bite and hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
