Chicago Weather Alert: Wind Advisory in effect until 7 p.m.
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A narrow line of thunderstorms is approaching our viewing area. Some have reached severe levels. There has been some weak rotation noted with these but the main threat is damaging thunderstorm winds. The line is currently entering LaSalle County.
A Wind Advisory until 7 p.m. Southwest wind could gust to 50 mph. Rain through midday.
Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued for multiple counties in Illinois - all of which have since expired.
Clouds gradually break up in the afternoon as temps slide to the upper 40s by 5 p.m.
Sunday brings sunshine and breezy conditions. SW winds gusting to 25.
Tuesday looks great for voters. Wednesday we'll dim the moon!
Total Lunar Eclipse
North, Central, and South America, including all of the Chicagoland area, will experience a total lunar eclipse on Tuesday morning, Nov. 8, beginning at 3:09 am CT. Totality starts at 4:16am and lasts until 5:41am.
This is the last total lunar eclipse we'll see until March of 2025!
