Cook County Officer Killed In Car Crash
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Cook County sheriff's officer was killed in a car crash in Woodridge.
It happened Monday afternoon near Joliet Road. Woodridge police said Zachary Perry was off-duty when the crash happened.
Another sheriff's department officer was in the car. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
Shortly after 4 p.m. Monday, one of our own, Officer Zachary Perry, who worked in Division IX at the Cook County Jail, was killed in a traffic accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and our staff, today and in the difficult days, weeks, and years to come.
