White Sox, Indians Tie 5-5

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Brett Lawrie and Jason Coats homered off Cleveland starter Trevor Bauer, and the Chicago White Sox and the Indians tied 5-5 on Friday.

Lawrie homered into the left-field bullpen in the first inning and Coats connected in the second.

Adam LaRoche homered for Chicago in the sixth against Ross Detwiler. Hector Sanchez tied the game with a two-run single for the White Sox in the ninth.

Francisco Lindor and Roberto Perez drove in runs for Cleveland, and Eric Stamets hit a two-run double off Scott Carroll in the seventh.

Chicago starter Jacob Turner allowed one hit in two scoreless innings. White Sox ace Chris Sale did his work on the side Friday morning as planned. Chicago plans to hold the All-Star left-hander out of exhibition games until March 19.
