White Sox Activate Beckham From 15-Day DL

(CBS) The White Sox have activated second baseman Gordon Beckham from the 15-day disabled list, the team announced this morning. Beckham hasn't played yet this season, missing the team's first 22 games because of a strained left oblique.

Beckham played 12 games at Double-A Birmingham on his rehab assignment. Chicago sent left-hander Charlie Leesman back to Triple-A Charlotte to make room for Beckham.

The 27-year-old Beckham hit .267 with five homers, 24 RBIs and 49 runs in 103 games last season.

The White Sox finish their series against the Tigers in Detroit this afternoon.
