Which NFL Teams Have Added Most New Players?
(CBS) Locally, the Bears have had quite the offseason already. Phil Emery and Co. have revamped the defensive line with the additions of Lamarr Houston, Jared Allen and Willie Young, added two new safeties and re-signed the likes of Charles Tillman and D.J. Williams.
All told, the Bears have added 11 new players who were on other rosters last season, according to NFL.com. That ranks Chicago fifth in the NFL in the addition of the most new players, which was expected -- change needed to be made following a season in which the defense set records for futility.
Here's a list of teams that have added the most new players. Former Bears coach Lovie Smith's new team, the Bucs, have had the most turnover.
1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 17 new players
2. New York Giants: 15
3. Washington Redskins: 13
4. Oakland Raiders: 12
5. Chicago Bears: 11
6. Miami Dolphins: 10
T7. Cleveland Browns: 9
T7. Arizona Cardinals: 9
T9. Detroit Lions: 8
T9. Seattle Seahawks: 8
T9. Minnesota Vikings: 8
Coming off a season in which it advanced to the NFC Championship game, San Francisco has signed the fewest new players to date, with two. Click here to see the entire list from NFL.com and who has matriculated to new locations.
