(CBS) -- A month after the body of a newborn was found on the side of a road in Wheaton, there was a prayer service held for the child known as Baby Hope.

The multi-faith prayer service was held Monday night at St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Father Daniel Hoehn says it started with a request from a parishioner who was touched by the newborn's death.

Father Hoehn says the event was designed to recognize the dignity and worth of Baby hope's life and others.

The non-profit group Rest in His Arms, which holds funerals and burials for abandoned babies, organized the service.

Others involved are reminding people about the state's "Safe Haven" law that allows new parents to safely give up a newborn at a hospital, police or fire station.
