What Will Happen To Patrick Kane's Day With The Stanley Cup?

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Patrick Kane's day with the Stanley Cup was supposed to be this weekend, according to media reports.

The question now is whether that will actually happen, after authorities confirmed that they are investigating an incident at Kane's home in Hamburg, N.Y.

Sources have told the CBS affiliate in Buffalo and the Buffalo News that Kane is the target of a sexual assault investigation. Police officially have not confirmed the nature of the inquiry.

A Chicago Blackhawks spokesman told CBS 2 that he had no knowledge of Kane's plans for the Cup, or even where the Cup would be this weekend.

The trophy was in the Buffalo area on Friday, at the home of Hall Of Fame coach Scotty Bowman, who is a Blackhawks adviser and father of current Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman.
