MINOOKA, Ill. (STMW) -- A fatal crash involving two pickups and a semi truck shut down the westbound lanes of I-80 for more than five hours in southwest suburban Minooka on Thursday morning.

The crash happened on I-80 at mile marker 118 at 5:25 a.m., Illinois State Police said in a statement.

A pickup traveling westbound hit the rear of a semi parked on the shoulder, police said. The pickup bounced back into the roadway, striking another pickup that was traveling westbound.

The passenger of the first pickup was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The deceased's name was not released Thursday morning.

The driver of the other pickup and the semi driver were taken to Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

All westbound lanes on I-80 were reopened as of 10:35 a.m., police said.
