Waukesha Christmas Parade Tragedy Leads To Bail Reform In Wisconsin
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A tragedy at a Christmas parade in Wisconsin leads to a push for bail reform.
The Wisconsin Assembly approved the first step toward a constitutional amendment to make it harder for violent criminal defendants to get out on bail.
Supporters pushed for the change after a driver killed six people when he plowed into a Christmas parade in Waukesha. That suspect, Darrell Brooks, Jr., was released on $1,000 bail just two days before the parade.
