Watch Halloween Classics At 'Campfire Horrors' At Northerly Island

CHICAGO (CBS) – 'Campfire Horrors' begins Friday at Northerly Island, hosted by The Chicago Park District.

Classic horror films will be screened each Friday leading up to Halloween, at Northerly Island's South Loop nature preserve, 1521 S. Linn White Dr.

The 'Campfire Horror' series begins Friday with a screening of "Psycho," Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 thriller.

There will also be a family-friendly screening earlier on Oct. 28 with the film, "Casper," as well as a costume contest and games for the kids.

The series is free and includes campfires and marshmallows. Campfires will be lit an hour before the movie begins. The Chicago Park District will provide the marshmallows.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs and to dress for the weather. All showings will be outside near the visitor center at the park.

- Oct. 21, 7 p.m.: "Poltergeist" (PG)
- Oct. 28, 6:30 p.m.: "Casper" (PG)
- Oct. 28, 8 p.m.: "Friday the 13th" (R)
