Watch: Cubs' Kyle Schwarber Receives Overwhelming Welcome At Wrigley Field

(CBS) The enduring images of Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber's 2015 at Wrigley Field saw the rookie slugger blasting home runs out of the Friendly Confines, including a shot in Game 4 of the NLDS that landed atop the right-field video board. Unfortunately, a torn ACL and LCL will keep him from playing in Chicago this 2016 season.

Schwarber suffered the severe knee injury in Thursday's win in Arizona and was ruled out for the rest of his second professional season. It was a difficult loss for the Cubs to take in this season of great promise.

As the Cubs were unveiled before their home crowd on Monday at Wrigley Field, they saved a surprise for the end. Schwarber was introduced to the crowd last, leaving the Cubs' home dugout under his own power and walking with a crutch.

Wrigley Field offered a raucous welcome for one of its favorites.
