Watch: Bulls-Wizards Was Full Of Comedic & Sad Highlights
(CBS) With Tom Thibodeau as coach, the Bulls and their fans are well acquainted with the significance placed on the defensive end. Heck, it's largely for that reason that rookie Doug McDermott had been buried on the bench.
With Chicago severely short-handed, McDermott finally got his chance in Tuesday's win against the Wizards, playing 15 minutes. Thibodeau called his work "solid," though that was rather puzzling after McDermott was scoreless in going 0-of-5 from the field and made several defensive misreads that led to open 3-pointers for Washington.
Regardless, McDermott can take solace in this: He wasn't as singularly bad on a defensive possession as Wizards forward Otto Porter was. In the final half-minute with the Bulls leading by three, Porter lost Tony Snell. And by lost, we mean completely, totally had no idea where he was.
We're wondering if Porter knew where he was.
Of course, the Bulls weren't without their many mishaps. Reserve guard Kirk Hinrich submitted an abysmal 12 minutes in which he went scoreless and had three turnovers. The video below tells the story in a way that words can't.
