Man Shot Dead In Washington Park Neighborhood

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was shot and killed Monday afternoon in the Washington Park neighborhood.

At 3:07 p.m., the 29-year-old man was traveling in a vehicle in the 5800 block of South Wabash Avenue when he was shot in the chest and thigh.

The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Area One detectives were investigating Monday evening.
