Man In Custody After 3rd Bank Robbery In 3 Months

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man suspected in two suburban bank robberies has been taken into custody after he struck again Monday afternoon in west suburban Warrenville.

At 1:26 p.m., he robbed a West Suburban Bank branch at 3S041 Route 53 in Warrenville, according to the FBI.

The robber is described as a white man in his 30s or 40s, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 with a medium build, the FBI said. He was captured on surveillance photos with a long brown beard, possibly fake, wearing a black button-down shirt.

The same man is suspected of robbing a Bank of America branch at 506 S. Schmale Road in Carol Stream at 11:23 a.m. Aug. 23, the FBI said. In that robbery he wore a black baseball hat, red button-down shirt and a surgical mask.

He also robbed a TCF Bank branch inside a Jewel-Osco at 2164 Bloomingdale Road in Glendale Heights at 4:51 p.m. July 29, according to the FBI. He was wearing a black cowboy hat, black suit, light-colored shirt and a medical mask.

He did not show a weapon in any of the three robberies, the FBI said.

As of Tuesday, the suspect was in custody, but additional information was not immediately available.
